About

Dr. med. Matthias Kessler is a specialist in Internal Medicine with more than 20 years of clinical and practical experience in Switzerland. After completing his medical studies at the universities of Mainz and Frankfurt, he underwent specialist training at university hospitals in Germany. He has lived and worked in Switzerland since 2002. After several years as a senior physician, he founded his own practice in Lucerne in 2005 and developed it into a center for functional, regenerative, and preventive medicine. His medical focus is on identifying and treating the underlying causes of chronic diseases, as well as promoting health, performance, and healthy longevity.
Dr. Kessler combines classical internal medicine with modern functional diagnostics, personalized prevention strategies, and regenerative therapy concepts. His areas of expertise include Functional Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Longevity Medicine, Hormonal Health, Neurostress Medicine, Environmental Medicine, and individualized approaches to optimizing metabolism, immune function, and cellular health. In addition to biological and functional factors, he places strong emphasis on the central role of stress regulation, resilience, and emotional health in long-term health and regeneration. His medical philosophy integrates state-of-the-art diagnostics with a deep understanding of the interactions between body, mind, and lifestyle, with the goal of supporting patients throughout their entire health journey.
He holds additional qualifications in hypnosystemic medicine according to Dr. Gunther Schmidt (Heidelberg), neural therapy, and integrative pain therapy. His particular interest lies in combining scientifically grounded diagnostics with innovative therapeutic approaches to promote resilience, regeneration, and healthy aging. His special focus areas include advanced concepts in immunomodulation, regeneration, and longevity medicine. These also encompass modern extracorporeal blood purification techniques such as plasma filtration and hemoadsorption, which can be integrated as complementary elements in individualized treatment plans.
Through his extensive clinical experience and interdisciplinary approach, Dr. Kessler aims not only to help patients manage existing conditions but also to maintain and enhance health, vitality, and quality of life over the long term. In his private life, Dr. Kessler draws strength from time spent with his family and his three daughters, as well as from literature, music, sports, and personal development. These experiences also shape his medical perspective: for him, health is not merely the absence of disease, but the ability to maintain physical, mental, and emotional balance.
